Deputy Chief Officer, Capability and Infrastructure

The Deputy Chief Officer, Capability & Infrastructure (DCO) will develop and deliver a capability model to ensure that front line services are supported by appropriate infrastructure, equipment and technology. This includes firefighting vehicles, communications and protective equipment technologies and personal protective clothing. This position will provide strategic advice on infrastructure investment decisions that support operational service delivery and ensure that CFA operational infrastructure and equipment is maintained to meet statutory and organisational obligations.

Located at the CFA head office in Burwood, this role directly reports to the Chief Officer and is one of four Deputy Chief Officer positions.

To qualify for this key position, you will bring extensive experience in project and budget management, technical maintenance schedules and procurement processes, preferably in a fire or emergency services environment. Ideally you will have strong understanding of emergency management, including emergency service delivery standards, strategic capability planning and operations performance. Backgrounds in infrastructure planning and management, asset administration and emergency management service and capability frameworks are preferred. Tertiary qualifications in business, emergency management or related disciplines are desirable.
