Elaine Connor specialises in senior executive appointments in the Higher Education, Health and General Corporate sectors. With her strategic and analytical skillset, Elaine is a valued advisor in the areas of executive search and organisational development, and provides highly perceptive and pragmatic advice to clients as they seek to appoint their ideal candidate to a senior executive or academic position.

With qualifications in both law and psychology, Elaine has had a dynamic and varied career. Prior to joining Jo Fisher Executive Search she spent 3 years as the General Manager Corporate Services and Group Legal Counsel & Company Secretary for Veda Advantage Limited, Australia's largest credit reference bureau. As well as advising the Board and senior executive team on complex issues, she managed the legal and HR aspects of numerous major corporate matters, including the privatisation and de-listing of the company; large scale acquisitions and divestments and significant litigation. Elaine was highly regarded in the corporate sector for her pragmatic, commercial advice and her ability to lead and develop strong teams focussed on partnering with the business.

In a career spanning 30 years, Elaine has held senior roles in both the public and private sectors. After commencing her career as a psychologist and working in a variety of roles, she completed a law degree and undertook her initial legal training at a national top tier legal firm. She then moved "in-house" and has since then worked across the resources, financial services and FMCG sectors at executive level. She was for many years a director of Diversity Council Australia and is a current presiding member of the NSW Guardianship Board.

Elaine is a Volunteer Staff Partner at the Cancer Council New South Wales where she has been integrally involved in the establishment of a Cancer Patient's Legal Referral Service.

Elaine has a BA(Hons) from the University of Melbourne, an M.Psych from La Trobe University and an LLB(Hons) from Monash University. She holds an unrestricted legal practising certificate.
